  • Mr Atwal works closely with members of the legal profession, including solicitors, advocates and judges, through his involvement in a wide range of expert witness matters.

    He has acted as an expert witness in numerous civil and criminal cases, including personal injury and medical negligence claims. His experience covers the preparation of clear, robust written reports as well as delivering evidence in court for both claimants and defendants, or in the capacity of a single joint expert. Mr Atwal has a strong understanding of legal principles and civil procedure rules, and is committed to providing an impartial, rigorous and evidence-based analysis. He is adept at identifying the key issues in a case and presenting them with clarity and precision.

  • Dr Batten’s special interests include Medical Ethics and neurodevelopmental disorders, although in the past five years his work has focused primarily on supporting young people experiencing depression and anxiety.

    Dr Batten began his child and adolescent medico-legal work in 1981 while still a trainee, and established a private medico-legal practice in 1992. The majority of his current practice involves assessing PTSD following accidents, though he also undertakes occasional criminal cases.

  • Dr Paddy Clarke qualified from Liverpool University in 1987 and, following training posts in Liverpool, the South West and the Midlands, was appointed Assistant Professor at Stanford University. From 1997 to 2013 he served as Consultant in Pain Management at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

    Dr Clarke specialises in interventional and chronic pain management, with a strong interest in holistic assessment. His practice integrates targeted interventional procedures, medication optimisation and physical rehabilitation, alongside psychological support when needed. He emphasises accurate diagnosis and a tailored, multi-factorial approach to improving and managing pain.

  • Dr Pao is a sexual health doctor and PhD design candidate at the Royal College of Art in London. His work focuses on improving the usability of electronic health records (EHRs) and understanding how clinicians interact with medical data.

    In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Pao undertakes expert work in medical negligence, HIV-related cases, and electronic health record error cases.

  • Mr Chan has provided expert medico-legal opinion, predominantly in breast-related matters, since 2005. His extensive experience includes medical negligence and regulatory (GMC) cases, with regular instructions from NHS Resolution, NHS Wales, HSCNI, MPS, MDU, and MDDUS, as well as numerous claimant solicitors.

    He acted as an expert surgical witness in the 2017 Ian Paterson Class Action, which was settled out of court for £37.3 million, and was subsequently invited to serve as a professional adviser to the Bishop of Norwich for the Paterson Inquiry.

  • Mr Warr is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon practising within the NHS and privately in Bristol and Gloucestershire. He was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at North Bristol NHS Trust in 2005 and also holds visiting consultant status in Gloucestershire. His NHS practice includes general plastic and reconstructive surgery in both adults and children, with particular subspecialist interests in breast surgery, trauma and complex wound management.

    Mr Warr has over 15 years’ experience preparing medico-legal reports and undertakes approximately 20 reports per year, receiving instructions equally from both claimant and defendant solicitors. His medico-legal work reflects his extensive clinical practice across both NHS and private settings.

    Typical instructions include injuries sustained at work, such as lacerations, burns and scarring, assault-related injuries including facial scarring, road traffic accidents – including breast injuries caused by seatbelt compression – as well as injuries occurring in public places and dog bites.

  • Sharon is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience across the NHS and charitable sectors, giving her a broad and well-developed clinical skillset. She has supported patients with long Covid and worked closely with NHS staff experiencing PTSD and related conditions following the pandemic, including serving as a Psychologist within Intensive Care during this time. Alongside her clinical work, Sharon has also delivered psychological assessment, coaching, and leadership development within business settings.

    She previously led a specialist Clinical Health Psychology service in the NHS, where she developed a strong focus on supporting individuals living with long-term physical conditions such as cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiac illness. As Head of Psychological Staff Well-Being, she further specialised in workplace mental health, including mediation and managing stress-related issues. Sharon also has wide-ranging experience across primary and secondary mental health care and holds specialist expertise in trauma, having worked with military personnel and frontline emergency service staff experiencing PTSD.
